Our Go-To V60 Recipe

There’s no one “right” way to brew coffee. Everything — from your water, to your grind, to how you pour — can influence the final cup. That’s part of the fun. But if you’re looking for a reliable, dialed-in method that consistently brings out the best in our light roasted coffees, this is the one we'd recommend.

It’s balanced, approachable, and designed to highlight the clarity, sweetness, and layered complexity that make light roasts so special.

V60 Recipe

Coffee: 16g
Water: 250g (filtered, just off boil)
Ratio: 1:15.6
Grind: Medium-coarse (think kosher salt or coarse sand)
Filter: Hario V60 white paper filter (rinsed well with hot water)
Brew time: ~2:30–2:45
Yield: ~210g finished brew

Brewing Steps:

1. Start with your bloom

Add 16g of ground coffee to your V60. Start your timer and pour in 50g of water, evenly saturating the grounds. Swirl gently to make sure everything’s wet, and let it sit for 30 seconds.

2. Pour in stages

At 0:30, pour up to 100g.
At 1:00, pour up to 150g.
At 1:30, pour up to 200g.
At 2:00, pour up to your final 250g.

Use slow, controlled spirals — from the center out, and back in — avoiding the edges of the filter.

3. Optional Swirl

After your first or second pour, give the brewer a gentle swirl to help flatten the bed and reduce any unevenness in the extraction.

4. Let it Finish

The brew should finish draining by around 2:30 to 2:45. If it runs much faster or slower, tweak your grind slightly finer or coarser.

Give the final brew a light stir or swirl before drinking — this brings all the layers together.
